A journalist working on the lonely hearts column and a photographer both work for the same magazine edited by Dominique Aveline. The film begins with her reading the letter of a female reader telling about her liking for lovemaking in cold places. The editor comes in, reads the letter, and suggests a hottest-couple-of-the-year contest.
