Chicas

Synopsis

Around the globe, poor women of all ages turn to prostitution in order to survive. They use alternate identities, hide from the police and their families, and are denied some of the most basic human rights. In Argentina, after years of oppression, two women and a transgender person bind together to reverse the persistent discrimination against street prostitutes. Over four years and against all odds, they build a strong sense of community, discover unforeseen abilities, and opportunities for a better future. This is their story.
