Cimarron
In 18th-century Martinique, Mathieu, a slave working on a sugar cane plantation, is sentenced to death for trying to escape with his wife and child. However, the judge offers him a reprieve on condition that he agrees to leave for Canada to work as an executioner. With no other choice, the young man accepts.
