Synopsis

Follow a pilgrimage across Europe to the shrine of Saint James in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This short documentary presents words and stories of twelfth-century pilgrims over beautiful footage of the contemporary countryside, linking the Romanesque monuments of northern Spain to the spiritual and emotional experience of the pilgrimage. Directed by Jerrilynn Dodds, the film was produced to accompany a 1995 exhibition on the art of medieval Spain—but it was canceled just three weeks before it was supposed to open.
