This film also recounts the world in which the artist evolved. Numerous witnesses recount their experiences with the artist and the man they knew: saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis, trombonist Fred Wesley, bassist Bootsy Collins, MC Danny Ray, and singer Martha High.
