Synopsis

Jérôme Rocheville, a man "well established in his age," marries a beautiful but incredibly spendthrift young woman. Unable to keep up with his wife's expensive habits, Jérôme attempts to return to his former career as an architect, but he finds no real success. The couple faces looming financial disaster due to the wife's extravagant spending.
