Roma Armee

Synopsis

Amidst Europe’s risk of neo-fascism, a group of actors, including Romnija, Roma, Romani travelers, and Israeli-German-Turkish-Berlin Gadjé, is advocating for a Roma army for self-defense against discrimination and racism. Initiated by sisters Simonida and Sandra Selimović, this supranational, diverse, feminist, and queer initiative is part of an artistic action at the Gorki with director Yael Ronen. They explore personal experiences and historical events to create a play, collaborating with visual artists Delaine and Damian Le Bas to envision a Safe European Home in Gypsyland Europe.
