Chaos reigns in the Stern family's new home. Dad Julius may be a brilliant physicist, but he is no good at day-to-day management - which is increasingly upsetting his wife Ulrike, who is overburdened with her job and raising the children. Little things like renovation work, visits from relatives and marital quarrels culminate in a full-blown crisis. Then Julius discovers the secret of being a civil servant.
