Gaia Marinese

Gaia Marinese is an emerging filmmaker based between Paris and Roma. Her practice centers on analog cinema, working primarily with super 8 film. In her films she explores recurring themes such as oneiric spaces ad the threshold between dreams and reality, the fragility of girlhood, memory, love and family, solitude and absence, with soft but rich and curated images. Alongside filmmaking she explores photography, collage, music, fashion, painting and drawing, developing a multidisciplinary approach that moves fluidly between image, material, and narrative.
