Biography

Keiko Tsuno is a New York–based television producer and documentary filmmaker and a co-founder of the Downtown Community Television Center (DCTV), one of the first community media centers in the United States. Working frequently with filmmaker Jon Alpert, Tsuno helped pioneer early video journalism and independent documentary production beginning in the 1970s. Her work includes Chinatown: Immigrants in America (1976) and Vietnam: Picking Up the Pieces (1978), both winners of the duPont-Columbia Award, as well as Third Avenue: Only the Strong Survive (1980), which received a National Emmy Award...
