Nguyễn Ngọc Tư

Nguyễn Ngọc Tư (born 15th August 1976 in Cà Mau) is a Vietnamese writer and poet. One of the most influential figures in 21st century Vietnamese literature, she is best known for a series of controversial short stories featuring extreme poverty, abusive relationships, violence and alienation, as well as a terse, emotionally resonant writing style and the heavy use of Southern Vietnamese-Mekong Delta regional dialect.
